June 2006
Dear Colleagues:
I and the organizers, Drs. Kathryn Lilley, Tom Neubert and Andy Brooks, would
like to invite you to attend the 11th international meeting of the Association
of Biomolecular Resource Facilities entitled " ABRF2007: Creating the Biological
Roadmap." to be held in Tampa Bay, Florida, March 31st.
A stellar assembly of internationally renowned scientists has been recruited
to the Program to present the latest developments in both the science
and the technologies that enable research in proteomics and genomics as well
as providing insights as to how these technologies are being utilized and integrated
to meet the demands of new initiatives by various funding agencies and institutions.
In addition to these presentations the hallmarks of the Association of Biomolecular
Resource Facilities, such as education, training, communication and advancing
core laboratory operations will be thoroughly addressed at ABRF 2007. As in the
past there will be presentations of studies performed by the association's Research
Groups as well as several studies that have been jointly designed by multiple
Research Groups. There will be a variety of Tutorial Sessions, Workshops and
Roundtables exploring a wide arrange of key technological/experimental issues
critical in innovative proteomics and genomics such as: Biomarkers, Quantitative
Proteomics, Computational Biology and Cross Platform Microarray Comparisons.
This year we will also offer two very exciting and comprehensive Satellite
Meetings. One will deal with technologies associated with Recombinant Protein
Expression and the other on Quantitative Proteomics. We anticipate these will
be very popular and we suggest you register early to ensure a place. Finally,
there will ample opportunities for participants to visit the outstanding array
of vendors exhibiting (Vendor Exhibition) at the meeting as well as
review numerous posters (Poster Sessions) and interact with colleagues
in both professional and social settings.
The ABRF was founded in 1988 to represent and support laboratories that provide,
develop and advance highly specialized technological resources for the analysis
and/or synthesis of biomolecules. Over the years we have maintained that focus
as well as expanding into new technological arenas as exemplified by our program
for ABRF 2007. The association's meeting has become one of best-recognized forums
for scientists in academic, independent and industrial laboratories to come together
and learn from key scientists in the field as well as one another in a relaxed,
professional environment and take back valuable knowledge, tools and contacts
to enhance their careers, laboratories and institutions.
I look forward to seeing you at ABRF 2007 and your participation in the meeting.
Sincerely,

Jay W. Fox
President, ABRF Executive Board
